shockwave

What is Shockwave

Everyone will experience muscle and joint pain at some point in their lives. Shockwave therapy is effectively proven to get you back to your best. It is safe, non-invasive, and approved by NICE guidelines- for the reduction of pain, swelling and inflammation.

What is it useful for?

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Hamstring tendonitis

What does shockwave do?

  • Increases vascular supply and restores normal blood flow
  • This promotes healing and helps speed up the recovery process

How does shockwave work?

  • Non invasive treatment that uses acoustic shockwave to pass through the skin to the affected area.
  • Initiates an inflammatory response in the tissue being treated and the body responds by increasing the blood circulation to the area.

What to expect:

  • After a full clinical assessment of your condition, we will tailor make a treatment protocol just for you. Shockwave is usually used alongside other treatments to gain maximum benefit.
  • Treatments usually last around 10 minutes
  • There maybe some slight discomfort in the treatment area
  • Results are not instant, and most conditions will usually require several sessions to reap the full benefit of the treatment.
