Childrens Feet

At Complete Podiatry we offer a service that will assess, diagnose and provide treatment for children with foot and lower limb conditions. We have a specialist interest in the development and treatment of childrens feet and have many years experience of working in childrens clinics, so you can rest assure your little ones feet will be in good hands.

We understand that children must never be regarded as a 'small adult' and should be assessed with an understanding of their developmental stage and age with respect for psychosocial development.

The initial assessment will involve taking a medical history to fully assess the problem and develop a suitable management plan.

At assessment it may be necessary to assess how your child is walking, and require examination of your child's back and legs. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could bring a pair of shorts and t-shirt with you to the assessment.

Treatments we provide include:

Foot care advice and advice on 'what's normal' in development of a child
Junior Gait Analysis (Assessment of how your child walks)
Orthotic prescription
Foot health promotion/ advice
Nail Surgery for ingrowing toe nails

Junior Gait Analysis

History Take

We ask a series of questions about your concerns. These questions will guide us in which tests we need to perform in order to help resolve your issues. We listen to your needs so we know your goals and help guide toward them

Standing Assessment

We look at how your joints align and move when standing and weightbearing that are appropriate for age.

Pressure Plate Analysis

During assessment we use a force plate to analysis the pressures going through your feet when standing, balancing and walking

Assessment of Walking

We will watch you walk , whether this be on the treadmill or up and down the clinic room/ corridor so we can look at how you move in relation to your childs age.
