Orthotics are medical devices inserted into the shoe that are used to reduce or alter forces acting on the tissues of the foot.
Orthotics can be made for a variety of conditions including:
Following a thorough biomechanical assessment or Run3D assessment we can advise on whether orthotics will be beneficial in your treatment process. Orthotics can either be pre-fabricated or custom made and we will advise what will be best for you depending on severity and medical need.
In clinic we can prescribe either pre-fabricated orthotics or custom made devices. We are also delighted to introduce Phits 3D printed orthotics in our clinical practice. Pre-fabricated orthotics are pre-made and are dispensed from the packet and therefore a standard size. There are many different devices devices and brands to choose from so an orthotic to suit your needs can usually be found. These devices are more cost effective but don't tend to last as long.
A custom device is an orthotic made specifically for your needs. We can either do a cast of your foot or create a 3D printed device. A wide range of materials can be used from plastics, to EVA, to rigid carbon fibre orthotics. Your requirements will be discussed at your appointment to ensure a unique prescription is devised.
Here at Complete Podiatry we like to keep pricing simple with an open pricing structure so you are aware of the cost from the start. There are 2 treatment options:
Assessment of the mechanics of your feet when standing, balancing and walking
